VoIP readiness

VoIP network readiness and support

Make sure the network, firewall and internet connection can support clear, reliable calls before or after a cloud-phone deployment.

What to expect

Clear scope. Practical outcomes.

Every engagement begins with the current environment, business priorities and the evidence needed to make a defensible decision.

Network readiness review

We assess bandwidth, latency, packet loss and configuration risks that can undermine voice performance.

  • Internet connection review
  • Latency and jitter analysis
  • Bandwidth assessment
  • Readiness findings

Call-quality troubleshooting

Find the actual cause of dropped calls, delay or poor audio across the network path.

  • Packet-loss analysis
  • QoS review
  • Root-cause isolation
  • Performance recommendations

Firewall and NAT review

Review firewall rules and translation behavior while preserving an appropriate security posture.

  • Firewall-rule review
  • NAT configuration
  • VoIP traffic validation
  • Security control review

Vendor coordination

Translate between the phone provider and the network environment so troubleshooting has a clear owner and evidence trail.

  • Technical handoff support
  • Vendor communication
  • Network evidence
  • Follow-up documentation

Useful scope, operating context and decision points for organizations evaluating this service.

Clear calls depend on the complete network path

Cloud phone systems still depend on local switching, wireless coverage, firewall behavior, internet service and correct traffic handling. A speed test can look healthy while packet loss, jitter, congestion or an asymmetric path causes intermittent audio and dropped calls.

Wolex reviews the path from the endpoint through the local network and service-provider boundary. The work focuses on evidence that can be shared with the phone, firewall or internet provider so responsibility does not bounce between vendors without a technical basis.

Readiness before deployment

Before a migration, the review considers bandwidth, power delivery, switch capacity, VLAN design, DHCP and DNS behavior, firewall and NAT requirements, quality-of-service policy and monitoring. Critical call flows and business validation criteria are recorded so the deployment team knows what success means.

If changes are required, they are separated from the phone cutover when practical. This reduces the number of variables inside the maintenance window and preserves a clearer rollback path.

  • Latency, jitter and packet-loss evidence
  • Switch, VLAN and power review
  • Firewall, NAT and QoS guidance
  • Phone-provider and ISP coordination

Troubleshooting after call-quality problems appear

For an existing system, useful evidence includes affected users and sites, timestamps, call directions, endpoint types, network path and whether the problem follows a person, device, location or provider. Wolex correlates those observations with network health and configuration.

The service is vendor-neutral and does not require Wolex to sell the phone platform. Recommendations may involve the local network, the firewall, the carrier or a documented escalation to the phone provider.

Frequently asked questions

Useful answers before we talk.

Do you sell phone systems?

No. Wolex focuses on the network readiness and troubleshooting needed to support VoIP platforms reliably.

Can you work with our current provider?

Yes. Wolex is vendor-neutral and can coordinate with cloud or on-premises phone-system providers.

Can VoIP be secured?

Yes. A strong design combines appropriate encryption, network segmentation, access control and correctly scoped firewall rules.
